Is SOMOS a health insurance plan?

SOMOS describes itself as a network of healthcare providers and community organizations, and as a Social Care Network. For questions about your insurance coverage or covered benefits, contact your health plan.

Can I ask for help with food, housing, or transportation?

Yes. SOMOS lists these among the needs it helps people address through community resources. Contact SMCS to discuss your situation and find out which resources or SOMOS programs may be available to you.

Do I need Medicaid to ask for help?

Some services have Medicaid or other eligibility requirements. SOMOS also describes enrollment assistance for people without Medicaid. Contact SMCS to ask about your options, even if you are unsure about your coverage.

Are all services free?

Do not assume every service has the same cost or eligibility rules. Contact SMCS for help understanding SOMOS program requirements and any potential costs. Your health plan can confirm covered benefits and out-of-pocket costs.

Can I find a provider who speaks my language?

SOMOS emphasizes culturally responsive, language-accessible care. Tell SMCS your preferred language and ask for help finding a provider who meets your needs.
